About me:
Over the past 20 something years, I can confidently say I have become a professional people-watcher. I am fascinated by seeing how others go about their days. I question what media content my friends consume and how that influences their decisions. I observe the kinds of images strangers project through their outfits and wonder if it is in line with their sense of self. My lifelong interest in people is why I love production, design, music and storytelling, and I can think of no better industry to fuse these creative curiosities than the fashion styling industry.
For me, fashion styling is the perfect way to blend these passions and explore how visual expression intersects with personal identity. With a background in both styling and production, I bring a holistic perspective to my work, carefully considering the stories behind the garments and how they communicate on screen, in photos, and in real life.
After I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with honors, I pursued a master’s degree. I received my master’s degree in fashion styling from Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design in London, England. My dissertation, How Male Performers’ Visual Branding Is Informed by Cultural Aesthetics: A Investigation Into Constructing Celebrity Identity, reflects my interests in how fashion acts as a catalyst for cultural narratives within our past and current society.
